🌄 Scenic Spot Introduction
Guihai Qinglan Scenic Area
Guihai Qinglan locates on Hangtian Road, Qixing District, Guilin. It features vast thousand-acre open meadow scattered with karst hills and lakes. Light stays soft and crowds remain relatively quiet between 09:00-11:00 AM, ideal for lawn portrait shots. Visit the third-floor observation deck of Landscape Aesthetics Gallery to overlook the whole grassland. Key photo-spots: the Lonely Tree and Swan Lake where black swans can be observed. You may also visit petting zoo and interact with sika deer. The park covers huge territory; we strongly recommend buying combined ticket with sightseeing shuttle bus to save walking energy.
Yao Mountain · Thousand-Li Rivers-and-Mountains Viewpoint
Yao Mountain is the highest mountain of downtown Guilin. An 8-minute cable-car ride brings you directly to summit. Thousand-Li Rivers-and-Mountains viewpoint is the most popular photography spot here, offering layered mountain scenery just like traditional Chinese scroll paintings. There are also Sky-Mirror installation and mountain-top café. During sunset hours, setting sun paints karst hills and city in warm orange glow with fantastic atmosphere. Temperature at summit is 5-8°C lower than downtown Guilin and winds blow strongly, so always bring a light outerwear. Cable-car ticket sales stop at fixed time; please manage your schedule well for sunset visiting. Hiking up via unmarked wild trails is highly discouraged for safety risks.
