Yulong River is the most picturesque pastoral river in Yangshuo. The Shuiedi-to-Gongqiao drifting section has gained huge popularity in recent years. All are manually-poled two-person bamboo rafts without noisy motor-boat engines. The river winds through karst peaks, rice paddies and green bamboo groves and passes multiple drop-weirs bringing light fun thrills as rafts slide down. Pastoral villages scatter on river banks with crisp water reflections. Sunny days offer green hills and blue water; mist-rain days look exactly like traditional Chinese ink-wash paintings, perfect for photography. Compared with Jinlong-Bridge-Jiuxian-Village route, Shuiedi usually has fewer visitors for a more relaxing experience.
Silver Cave
Silver Cave is hailed as “representative karst cave of Guilin, wonder of world caves”. It is a large-scale underground cavern with sightseeing walkways stretching for around 2 kilometers. Stalactites formed in different geological ages glitter like silver and diamonds under illumination. Major scenic zones include Ice-Snow World, Jade-Pond Fairyland and Musical Stone Screen. Massive stalagmites, stone pillars and stone curtains take countless fantastic shapes. The cave maintains a constant temperature of 18-22 °C all-year-round: cool escape in summer and mild in winter. Spacious cavern space and atmospheric lighting make it an unmissable underground wonder when visiting Yangshuo.
A Thousand-Li Rivers and Mountains Real-Scene Performance
This outdoor real-scene show is adapted from Wang Ximeng’s celebrated Northern-Song masterpiece painting A Thousand-Li Rivers and Mountains. Real Yangshuo peaks and lake serve as natural stage backdrop. The show combines dance, light-shadow projection, traditional costumes and Chinese-style music to immerse audiences into the ancient scroll painting. Human performers blend with natural mountain scenery, letting visitors feel oriental classical landscape aesthetics. Both Chinese and foreign guests can appreciate its charm. Since it is an outdoor production, heavy rain or thunderstorms may lead to rescheduling or full cancellation of the performance.
